I am a seventh generation, southeastern North Carolinian. I live in Wilmington with my wife Caroline, our 10 year old daughter Eliza, our 8 year old son Eric “Stephen” II, our dog and even a pet duck, Dixie.
I love being a father and husband and enjoy spending time with my family more than anything else. I am an avid golfer and hunter and enjoy spending time outdoors. I also enjoy the perks of living near the beach and Lake Waccamaw.
Protect the quality of life in New Hanover County, which includes our drinking water, waterways and beaches. This would involve significant measures to prevent GenX and other contaminants from getting into our waterways.
As demonstrated in the last two years, with a fiscally conservative budget we can more than meet our financial obligations without raising taxes. The economic vitality of this area is crucial to attracting new businesses and business expansion.
Child advocacy and safety will be a top priority and I’ll make sure our students and teachers remain a top priority. Lytle is the only candidate or current board member with young children in the NHC public school system.
Being a Board Member for the New Hanover County Juvenile Crime Prevention Council and A Safe Place has given me a unique insight into the underlying issues and what programs and practices are most effective in the county.
